Saatkultur*
Ingrid was honoured to be selected as one of only nine creatives worldwide by a luminary of the arts to represent the discipline of Photography for Saatkultur* — alongside nine other exceptional creatives from across design disciplines. This innovative project was showcased at the Schleswig-Holstein State Museum during the Summer Solstice May Day celebrations.
This collaborative initiative, involving the Ernst Barlach Haus in Hamburg and the architecture collective Frugal Bauen, used seed bags as a powerful symbol against racism and for mutual cultural enrichment. Our project was shortlisted in the Top 10 for the Social Design Award 2023, organised by DER SPIEGEL in cooperation with BAUHAUS.
Saatkultur* was recognised by an esteemed jury including Jolanthe Kugler, Marcus Wegener, Thorsten Dörting, and Marianne Wellershoff.
The project involved packaging seeds from nine different plants into beautifully designed sachets, each paired with descriptions of social projects supporting refugee inclusion. The message: Open your arms and your hearts to all that is foreign — it enriches us. And equally: Fight every form of racism wherever you encounter it. Migration, after all, is just one form of movement that makes gardens more colourful, kitchens more diverse, and life more vibrant.
